Mock FMP Practise
One Week PowerPoint:
Three Technical Experiments
Idea Generation
Proposal
Secondary Research
Primary Research
I don't any evidence of written work but in Dan Baker's lesson last week, he gave us a poll on our favourite Children's TV Channel and Favourite fictional Bear and how much do we think a cartoon horse would appeal to children. As our teacher was asking everyone in the class, it meant that Primary Research was showing our thoughts on Children's TV and the data shown was put into a pie chart created by us.

Mock FMP Reflection:
13th to 16th March
Two weeks before the Easter Holidays, We were given a PowerPoint to complete which listed a set of task to do each day of the week. All of these tasks got given the theme of 'future'. The first thing we all had to do was make a mood board showing the possibilities of what we can do using that theme which I found to be an easy task as I have access to the internet where I can look at images related to the theme. We next move onto the bibliography research to give us an understanding on what people predicted for the future as that could help us bring it to life with our chosen topic.
On Tuesday, we were researching into podcasts. This was a task that we had done a few months ago but we went back to look at certain ones which could influence us make our own. I found this to be a very straightforward task because not only was it something I had already done but it involved a lot of research which I had all the access to. The next day, we moved straight onto the actual recording of the podcast. The podcast had to be a topic that would cause some debate and so me and my partner choose True Crime, more specifically the Death Penalty, because we felt that we could research a load of information from it and it's a topic that has caused debate for decades. Unfortunately, we weren't able to record ours because we didn't get the time but we were able to do the next week.
Later that same day, our teacher brought in a backdrop to make a 'Gritty Portrait' which is a black & white portrait that's supposed to give off a gritty tone. I found this task to be very fun because it allowed me to develop on my photography skills by using an actual camera and also my photoshop skills because I used it to turn an image Black & White. It even allowed me to interact with those in class because they were taking the photo and I was doing the same with them.
20th - 23rd March
On Monday 20th March, we were experimenting with Secondary research. Secondary research is when you research something that has already been collected and we were given 6 different techniques related to our chosen path to research into, find video tutorials and search for image examples. I found this to be a fun task because it tested my knowledge on whether or not I can trust a website and it even gave me the opportunity to learn something new. On Tuesday however, we looked at Primary research which is new information collected by yourself. This was done by our teacher giving us a survey on our favourite kids TV channel and our responses were collected in a Pie Chart. This allowed use to compare the two methods and decide on what we felt was the better option.
The rest of the week I had been improving on work I still hadn't fully completed. I also still hadn't done the podcast as there was so many people in the class who needed to do it that we just run out of time.
27th - 30th March
On Monday 27th March, we were informed that the work we were set to complete was a practise for our Final Major Project and were given a checklist for us to tick off all the tasks we still needed to do. That same Monday was also an early finish due to parents evening. However, I was still able to complete enough work but the work probably could've been better if I had that extra time.
On Tuesday 28th March, I was given the task to research into two different types of montage as my chosen FMP is the Film Production which I hope to move to next year. Both montages are Rhythmic and Metric which are very similar but do have some slight differences and my task was to analysis them both and show examples from films. I found this to be a really enjoyable task because when it comes to filming, I genuinely find myself becoming more invested in the work as I know I can zone out sometimes. This research was done so I can make three different technical experiments on creating a montage. On Wednesday 29th, I found out that I didn't have loads of time left to complete the project and so I decide to just crack on and not let anything distract me. In the morning, I was due to do a podcast but my partner hadn't showed up so I had to go solo. I found this task to be really challenging because I had to try and come up with a last minute script and what was more difficult was that the podcast was on a topic I don't have the greatest knowledge for. The research I had done for the podcast helped but I definitely wished I had done more. Later that day, I started filming some of the experimentation during my break and in Assessment Centre lessons I had been typing up my Mock FMP Reflection. On the final day, I made sure everything was uploaded and my experiments had been finished and since they were limitations to my filming, I decided to film a few clips on my 3 hour break. I reached the deadline and ticked everything off meaning I didn't have any left to do for the Easter break.
